Jim Huang, President and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Huang has over 18 years of investment experience. Having started his career in Calgary as a brokerage research associate, Jim returned to Toronto to become a buy side investment analyst and over the years progressed to be a highly successful portfolio manager. Most recently he was with Natcan investment Management Inc. and its predecessor Altamira Management Ltd.

Jim has developed strong relationships in the Canadian oil patch from the beginning of his career. As lead or co-manager, Jim has managed over $2 billon in mutual funds and institutional assets, including all of the resource and equity income products in the Altamira and National Bank mutual fund families. In particular, Altamira Energy Fund, Altamira Resource Fund, Altamira Precious and Strategic Metals Fund and AltaFund (a Canadian Equity fund focusing on Western Canada) had industry-leading performance and won awards and positive press coverage.

Jim holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and the Certified General Accountant designations, and a Bachelor of Commerce (High Distinction) degree from the University of Toronto.

Rita C. Li, Research Analyst, Equities

Rita joined T.I.P. in July 2010 after gaining considerable experience in the financial industry including internships with a large Canadian pension plan and a tier 1 investment bank. She graduated from Bachelor of Business Administration program from the University of Toronto with Distiniction. Rita has completed Level I of the Chartered Financial Analyst program and is working towards achieving a full designation.

Claire Kim, Research Analyst, Equities / Operation Manager

Claire brings a diverse set of skills in equity research, banking and administration. She has covered public equities extensively in the telecomunication, health care and consumer sectors. Claire holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. She has completed Level III of the Chartered Financial Analyst program.

Ron B. Kusano, Consultant

Mr. Kusano has over 30 years of experience spanning all corners of the financial services industry including banking, insurance, mutual fund and capital market. He has held senior positions with Sun Life of Canada, TD Dominion Securities, Lawson Mardon Group and Prudential-Bache Securities, and has consulted for many of Canada’s top banks and insurance companies.

Mr. Kusano holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and the Certified Management Accountant designations, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario.
